How to Filter and Create Audiences

Filtering Audience Data

When you first click into the Audiences section, it will look something like this:

You have the option of filtering audience data gathered from your Discovery Surveys or Segmentation Funnels. To do so, click into any of the rows presented.

For example:

The ensuing page will be broken up automatically based on answers given by the participants.

From here you can click into any of the questions presented, and change to the question where you want to derive specific data from. For example, here we changed the question from number 5, to question number 1:

You can also setup your own filters by clicking on the Add A Filter + button.

Then choose the quiz type:

Filter the results as needed.

Now the filter looks like the following example. Note that you can see how many participants there are, including the email addresses inputted, locations, browser types, and device types.

To view the data from the custom filter, click on “Use This Filter.”

You will then be presented with the high-level response data for the specific filters implemented:

To review future results using the same filters, click on Save Audience and use an appropriate title:

The custom made audience will then be available for you to access when needed.

Now that we have created an audience by way of accessing an established audience from a Discovery Survey or Segmentation Funnel, let’s create an audience from scratch.

Create An Audience With No Pre-Existing Data

There are two ways in which you can create a new audience.

From the Dashboard:

And via the Audiences tab:

The ensuing page will not have any data associated with it, as shown below.

To setup your own audience, you will follow many of the same steps outlined above.

1. Add a filter

Click on the Add A Filter + button.

You also have the option of adding a demographic filter.

2. Choose the quiz type you want to gather results from

3. Select the survey, questions, and answers you want to filter results from. Then save the filter.

You can then create additional filters. Once you’ve setup all the filters needed, click on Use This Filter in the upper right-hand corner.

On the ensuing page, click on Save Audience.

Name your audience, and save:

Then you will have the new audience with the filters set in place already, should you need to access it again.
